UK-Trained Therapists Practicing Globally.

A professional community for UK-trained counsellors and psychotherapists living and working abroad.

Connection and Support for Your International Practice.

UK Counselling & Psychotherapy Professionals Abroad is a dedicated community for mental health professionals trained in the UK and now practicing internationally. We provide a supportive space to connect with colleagues who understand the unique challenges of practicing abroad with UK qualifications. Whether you're in private practice or working for an organization, our community offers connection, resources, and support tailored to your situation.

Two people sit in folding chairs under the shade of a large tree, silhouetted against a vivid sunset. The sky is filled with soft orange, pink, and purple hues, with thin clouds stretching across the horizon. The sun is low, shining brightly between them, casting a warm glow and sun rays outward. The scene feels calm and peaceful, suggesting a quiet moment of conversation or companionship in nature

A Community for UK-Trained Professionals Abroad.

This group is for you if you:

  • Completed your counselling or psychotherapy training in the UK.
  • Are currently living and working outside the UK.
  • Are planning to relocate abroad while maintaining your practice.
  • Are interested in connecting with other UK-trained professionals in similar situations.
Four young adults sit together at a wooden table in a casual setting, possibly a café or study space. They are engaged in conversation and appear to be working collaboratively. One person is holding a tablet, another has a laptop in front of them, and two are holding coffee cups. Everyone is smiling or laughing, creating a warm, friendly, and collaborative atmosphere. The background includes a white brick wall and wooden panels, adding to the cozy, informal vibe.

A Needed Space for Connection.

The most common feedback since the group began is simple: "Thank you for creating this." Practicing internationally can be isolating. This community exists to solve that problem by providing a vital and active space for peer support.

Shared Understanding

A place to connect with colleagues who "get" the specific challenges of being a UK-trained therapist abroad.

Practical Solutions

A forum to discuss crucial topics like cross-border supervision, insurance, and CPD that are hard to navigate alone.

Reduced Isolation

The reassurance that comes from knowing you are part of a supportive network of professionals on a similar journey.

A Note From the Group's Creator

"I started this community to bring together UK-trained therapists who are navigating the unique journey of practicing internationally. My hope is that this will be a source of connection, support, and shared learning for us all."

William Smith, BACP Accredited Supervisor & Therapist
